a5c7b9f00b Live the life of Jodie Holmes, a young woman who possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to a mysterious invisible entity. As a small child, Jodie Holmes became a government lab rat due to her strange psychic powers caused by her link to an incorporeal psychic entity knownAiden. Scientist Nathan Dawkins was chosenher handler and tasked to study her, raise her and prepare her to join the Psy Ops military divisionsoonshe's of age. Having no friends, and being bullied and accused of witchcraft by every kid she ever tried to become friends with, Jodie grew attached to Nathan and became his surrogate daughter. Eventually, she joined the military only to become their pawn forced to commit criminal acts abroad for the supposed greater good. She also discovered that, since she can also channel the dead, the military will eventually probably force her to use all her powers to open a rift to the afterlife dimension, even though this could literally unleash Hell on Earth. Realizing that she will never be free, Jodie decides to run away like many times before. However, wherever she goes, the military, the demons and the spirits follow, and wreak havoc. The game playsa non-linear third person adventure game and allows the players to choose which or how severe actions Jodie will take in certain dangerous or normal situations. The game has several endings dependent on some of the choices that decide the fate of both Jodie and several side-characters she befriends throughout the game. This game is, simply put, jaw-dropping. The graphics, storyline, characters, and acting come together perfectly. I loved all the performances by the actors, but especially Ellen Page and Willem Dafoes' performances. The storyline is awesome, and I loved how the creators put the story in a messed up, un-chronological order. We later find out this is because of Jodie's fading memory, at the ending cinematic. You play from the perspective of Jodie Holmes(Ellen Page), a girl born linked to a entity, Aiden, who we later find out is the soul of her stillborn brother, which was one of many tearful cinematics. Her life is a constant mess, her own father hated her, calling her a "monster and a demon" and she was abandoned/left at a medical facility for studying her and her entity for scientific reasons. She meets Nathan Dawkins(Willem Dafoe) who is her "father figure", and studies her and Aiden. As she grows up, to a teenager, and young adult, you constantly feel sorry for her, everything always seems to go wrong in her life, and makes her more miserable. As you go along, there are many choices that you can make that will impact the ending, not to mention the major choice you must make at the end of the game, suchsaving people or letting them die, or even being nice, or mean and hateful to people. PlayingAiden is also enjoyablewell, although confusing at times. You can choke, possess, flip cars, and more using Aiden. At the end, I was very shocked to find just how Nathan Dawkins had become, and was surprised at his death, and git a bit tearywell. The ending is very sad and emotionally disturbing,it talks about what happens after death, and it left me sad and thinking about many things for quite a few days. Needless to say, this is a great game, and the Graphics were ASTOUNDING for PS3, and at 720p at that. The soundtrack is also emotionally filled, especially the "Beyond" soundtrack. All in all, this is a great game, one of PS3's best by far. I would highly recommend getting this game. It will not let you down. Beyond: two souls is an emotional journey with an unique story.

First of all, the graphics were more than amazing but (in my opinion) the game's set design was the main reason of excellence. Everything was so detailed and because of the diversified locations (desert, forest, underwater base, futuristic headquarters etc.) the gameplay does not become monotonous.

The motion capture technology came so far, the eyes were the most impressing for me, they were filled with life, i could watch them for long minutes. Even the tears were incredibly realistic and the face expressions delivered emotions very well. It must be extremely difficult to play a role (especially in a game based on emotions)with motion capture, where strong imagination becomes a basic requirement.

Ellen Page brings an outstanding performance, you could easily tell that she did everything to identify with her character. Willem Dafoe was also great, his character's change was reasonable, only his transformation happened too fast in the end.

The music fits the game perfectly, Lorne Balfe created another masterpiece and I'm pretty sure Hans Zimmer also took a huge parta producer.

The bond between Jodie and Aiden was imaginative and well portrayed , especially the purple wire between thema symbol of the umbilical cord (which caused the fatal accident).

The Story from the beginning till the end was exciting, every chapter had an own unique environment which made the gameplay flow like a river.

I've had some minor problems but they did not affect the overall experience. I gave this a 10/10 because only a few movies could deliver emotions so well and even less game achieved this goal successfully.

Highly recommended for every Play Station 3 owner.
